Materuni Village Experience: Nature, Culture & Coffee Adventure

Materuni Village Experience: Nature, Culture & Coffee Adventure

Materuni Village
Materuni Village Experience – Cultural & Nature Adventure on the Slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro** Depart from Moshi (approx. 30 min scenic drive) through lush foothills to Materuni Village. On arrival, meet your local Chagga guide and get an introduction to Chagga Culture, traditions, and village life. Begin a guided rainforest hike (45–60 minutes, moderate) through banana and coffee farms to reach the spectacular Materuni Waterfalls. Learn about local flora, fauna, and farming practices along the trail. At the waterfall, enjoy the 80-meter cascade, relax in the natural pool, and take in the tropical scenery. Return to the village for an authentic cultural experience: taste Mbege (traditional banana beer), enjoy a home-cooked local lunch, and engage in storytelling about Chagga traditions. Continue with a hands-on coffee tour: learn Arabica coffee cultivation, roasting, grinding, and brewing using traditional methods. Experience Chagga songs and dances while preparing and tasting fresh local coffee. After a full cultural immersion, drive back to Moshi (30 min), enjoying views of the Kilimanjaro foothills and lasting memories of the experience.

About Us

Hi again, I’m Boni, a local guide from Materuni Village, a small, beautiful place tucked into the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This isn’t a tour from a brochure. This is my home where I was born, where I walk every day. Where the sound of the waterfall mixes with the laughter of children and the aroma of roasting coffee. When you book a tour with me, you don’t just visit, you connect. You learn our stories. You meet real people. You feel the rhythm of our land and our culture. Come walk beside me, and see Tanzania through the eyes of someone who calls it home.
